This position has been announced at the XVII Congress of the United Civil Party, which is being held in Minsk.

On July 17, the reporting and election Congress of the United Civil Party opened in Minsk. Party chairman Anatol Liabedzka’s report, nominating candidates for “deputies” for the “house of representatives,” re-electing the party leadership are on the agenda of the Congress, Radio Svaboda reports.

110 delegates have been elected for the Congress, about 80 are present. Welcoming address was made by the guests – co-chairman of the center-right coalition Yury Hubarevich and Vital Rymasheuski. They spoke about the coalition’s work.

The Congress was greeted by international friends and partners: the European People's Party; the Conservative Party of Norway; other foreign partners.

Chairman of the United Civil Party Anatol Liabedzka made a report.

“We make reports every two years. Belarus has neither a legitimate parliament, nor self-government. We do not live by the laws, but according to the rules, which the power offers us., We have been a team that works collectively for these two years. None of the decisions has been taken individually, they have all been discussed together. We are completely open – state media journalists are present at the Congress.

The election campaigns have always been a challenge for us. We do not use the word “elections,” as it means an open vote count, a person’s conscious choice. And it does not happen here. We only take part in election campaigns. We inform people about our program, “millions of jobs.” We cannot call for a boycott. Therefore, we are constantly changing our tactics.

We held hundreds of meetings with people during the presidential election campaign. We were collecting evidence that there was no free “elections,” no freedom of speech, no legitimacy in the presidential election campaign,” – Anatol Liabedzka said.
