The verdict of the Leninski court against the former director of Vyasnyanka garment factory remained in full force and effect.

The case fell under consideration at the end of 2015. Maksim Shnek was accused of damage to the company equaled to more than 2 billion of non-denominated rubles. The former head of the company charged with official misconduct, multiple thefts, extortion of a loan or subsidies and forgery. The activity of Shnek from April 2012 to November 2014 (since April 2014 - director) was under investigation, tut.by reminds.

There were 40 witnesses from Russia and Belarus. According to prosecution, they received production of Vyasnyanka, but not all money was returned.

Then, the amount of alleged thefts was decreased by approximately 130 thousand Russian rubles (35 million Belarusian non-denominated rubles). The defendant pleaded not guilty and accepted only charges of extortion of a loan and forgery. Improvement of statistical data he explained with desire to preserve the enterprise and the team, who, according to him, worked in conditions of an illegal takeover.

The state prosecutor explained forgery with desire to secure a comfortable tenure of office and declared that his guilt was proved in all respects. The prosecutor asked for 12 years in a colony with a reinforced regime including asset forfeiture and the prohibition to take certain positions for five years. The civil claimant, the authorized representative of ZAO Vyasnyanka, asked for Br251 761 to cover the damage.

On March 24 the judge of the Leninski district of Mahilyeu Ihar Shvedau found the former director of Vyasnyanka guilty of all charged crimes and sentenced him to 10 years in the colony with a reinforced regime, including asset forfeiture and the prohibition to take certain positions for five years.

Maksim Shnek filed an appeal, but the Regional Court rejected it. The sentence came into force, Chief Assistant Prosecutor of Mahilyeu region Elena Shumeika said. In connection with corruption crimes committed by the accused ZAO Vyasnyanka suffered damage equaled to 8 million 821 thousand 966.33 Russian rubles, or 2 billion 679 million 517 201 Belarusian non-denominated rubles. The garment factory has the right to satisfy a civil claim for damages. The issue is referred in accordance with civil court proceedings.

Vyasnyanka is a former Valadarski garment factory founded July 1, 1929. It is the part of the Belarusian light industry and one of the largest garment entities in Belarus and the CIS. At the moment it is one of the most problematic enterprises of Mahilyeu region. on April 28, 2016 the Economic Court of Mahilyeu region initiated proceedings based on the request of the creditor OAO Mozhelit on economic insolvency (bankruptcy) of ZAO Vyasnyanka.
