Today, the courts are an essential tool of retaining power by the ruling clan.

Leader of the United Civil Party Anatol Liabedzka shared his impressions about the meeting of the Chairman of the Supreme Court of Belarus and the head of the OSCE ODIHR mission on his Facebook page:

– Well, there are some people in power structures with uncopyable sense of humor ...

Chairman of the Supreme Court Valiantsina Sukala met with the head of the OSCE ODIHR Election Observation Mission Caetano de Zulueta, the press service of the court informs.

“Belarusian courts are independent and do not interfere in the activities of the Central Election Commission, they do not give or get consultations. Our task is to ensure a normal working process at the elections, without getting involved into politics,” – Sukala said at the meeting.

“Sukalization” of the judicial system has reached its bottom. Today it is the most important tool of retaining power by the ruling clan, and tomorrow it will be one of the biggest obstacles in the way of change and development.
