Yarmoshyna: I Do Not Understand Why People Use Social Networks

The head of the CEC said that the social networks, used by the vast majority of the world, are something “useless, far-fetched and for show-offs.”

On August 14, chairman of the Central Election Commission Lidziya Yarmoshyna gave an interview to several public channels. She said that opposition protests are the biggest threat to the “parliamentary elections” in Belarus, as well as shared her opinion on social networks.

“I do not understand why people use social networks. I believe that friends should communicate in person or by phone.

I do not understand what kind of conversation you can have, chatting online. How can you demonstrate proudly your photos to strangers? For me it all seems like something useless, far-fetched and for show-offs,” – Yarmoshyna said.
