The police of Kyiv have identified two suspects of journalist Pavel Sheremet’s murder and are taking measures aimed at their arrest, obozrevatel.com informs with a reference to the sources in the law-enforcement agencies.

According to their information, this refers to the man and the woman who were noticed on Monday, August 15, at about 12.30 in Podhorna Street in Shevchenko district of Kyiv. It is also informed that both suspects escaped in a car, the state registration number of which starts with “AA72”.

Pavel Sheremet died on July 20 in Kyiv city center as a result of the blast of the car which he was driving to get to the “Radio Vesti” air. The vehicle belonged to founding editor and director of “Ukrayinska Pravda”, Sheremet’s partner wife Olena Prytula.

The investigation considers Sheremet’s professional activity as the key version of his murder, but the police are also working on the three other versions: personal

enmity to the journalist, destabilization of the situation in Ukraine and the murderers’ mistake, whose goal could have been Olena Prytula, as she also used this very car.

On July 22, the media published the video record of the surveillance cameras, in which it is possible to see someone putting the bomb under the car, in which Sheremet blasted later. The media outlet claimed that the explosive had been put by a woman, with a man working in pair with her.

On August 4, the Ukrainian police showed the full video of putting the bomb under the automobile. Back then, the procedural prosecutor of the General Prosecution of Ukraine Andriy Shevchenko said that the investigation had no evidence with regard to the personalities of the suspected man and woman.

On August 9, “Ukrayinska Pravda” informed about the appearance of a new video record in the case of Sheremet’s murder, with a reference to a source in the Interior Ministry of Ukraine. According to the interlocutor of the “Ukrayinska Pravda”, the faces of those who put the explosives under the car are seen in the new video.

On August 10, General Prosecutor of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko informed there had been “a considerable” progress in the investigation of Pavel Sheremet’s murder, but refused to inform the details.
