Russia Reduces Oil Supplies To Belarus Again

The Russian Federation plans to cut oil supplies to Belarus via the pipeline transportation to 3 million tons in the fourth quarter of 2016.

Spokesman for "Transneft" Igor Demin has told to Interfax that the approved schedule of oil supplies to Belarus via the main pipeline system for the fourth quarter prescribes shipment of up to 3 million tons of oil. In the third quarter, according to the schedule, they will transport 3,5 million tons of the Russian oil to Belarus.

Thus, upon the results of 2016, Belarus will receive 18 million tons of oil, while in the beginning of the year the volume of oil supplies via the "pipe" was expected to bet 23 million tons.

We remind that in the third quarter, it was decided to cut oil supplies to Belarus from 5,3 million tons to 3,5 million tons. Russia’s Energy Minister Alexander Novak and Deputy Prime Minister Dvorkovich explained that the reduction happened due to the conflict caused by non-payment of Belarus for the Russian gas.
