Lukashenka Worries About Paper For Recycling And Glass Containers

Authorities imposed a duty on importers of glass containers and packaging made of paper and paperboard.

To protect the interests of domestic manufacturers of glass containers and packaging made of paper and cardboard, the importers of such containers and packaging will have to pay an obligatory duty to the state operator dealing with the handling of the secondary material resources, BelaPAN reports.

This is provided for by Lukashenka’s Decree №350, amending Decree № 313 of July 11, 2012, "On some issues of consumption waste handling."

Furthermore, in order to avoid export of high quality wastepaper, produced mainly in trade organizations (production wastes), and for loading of the "Bellesbumprom" enterprises, the Decree provides for the payment of compensation for such waste in line with the state order for the supply of waste paper, the press service of Lukashenka informs.
