Babruisk Authorities “Siphon Off” $40K On Foundation

Local activists are wondering why there is no money for repairing roads, while when it comes to construction of the” buildings no one really needs”, the money suddenly appears.

Babruisk activist of the steering committee of the party "Belarusian Christian Democracy" Uladzimir Haidukevich sent a complaint to the administration of Lukashenka at the initiative of the local authorities to construct the "buildings that no one needs," bchd.info informs.

In summer 2016 they installed a sign worth Br 1 billion ($ 65 thousand as of July 2016) in a forest on the eve of the city day. The regional newspaper "Babruyskae zhytstsio" provided such figures.

"However, a monument by itself seemed not enough for them, and feeling the impunity, they placed a decommissioned aircraft on the foundation which was assessed of Br 750 million ($46 thousand as for August 2016)," - the activist has said, adding that the real value of the foundation was Br 50 million ($3 thousand on the same date).

"They stole and shared the rest. As for my requests with a plea to fill the puddles on the roads with gravel and sand, they reply that there was no money. However, they seem to have money for a cuttlefish worth a billion. Such is the power vertical..." – Uladzimir Haidukevich is outraged.
