Court proceedings against the leader of the Youth Front Pavel Severinets will resume February 19 in the Central district court of Minsk. YF leader is indicted for holding a St.Valentine Day rally in Minsk on February 14. Administrative case under art.167-1 of the Code of administrative violations will be considered by the judge Tatyana Pavluchuk.
Severinets was captured February 16 noon near the BPF headquarters, where he stayed since February 14 night. During 36 hours BPF office was under constant police surveillance. The law-enforcers were waiting for the YF chair to leave the place. The trial got underway February 16. Severinets was released from custody until the moment the proceedings will resume.
Police protocols and rapports, submitted to court, read that Severinets is actually an organizer of the meeting, for he was calling upon the crowds to follow him, was waiving the EU banner and shouted "Long Live Belarus!" calls.
Pavel Severinets agreed that he was an active dissenter but in no wise its organizer. The application was signed by different people, who later withdrew their signatures.
