Belarus Foodstuff Supplies to Moscow Spiraling 11:01, 07/05/2001, RosBusinessConsulting
In the first quarter of 2001 the shipment of food from Belarus to Moscow was on the uphill, reported the Minister of agriculture and food of Belarus Ivan Averchenko.
Since the beginning of the year there have been shipped to the Russian capital 1382 tons of beef, 1690 tons of pork, 192 tons of dry milk, 504 tons of cheese, 327 tons of butter and other products, including vegetables, salt, meat and dairy cans.
The sales turnover could even be higher. The restraining factor during the consignment of Belarusian foodstuff into the Russian Federation was the divergence in taxation systems of the two countries.
