Picket, dedicated to the 2nd anniversary since the abduction of former Interior Minister general Yuri Zakharenko took place in Minsk on the crossroads of Mogilevskaya and Slonimskaya streets - the approximate location from which they kidnapped the general two years ago. The picket was staged by the United Civil Party within the framework of the campaign "We want truth!". 10 activists walked into the most crowded place of the area, raising portraits of the missing politician.
The picketers were in no time approached by the law-enforcer who inquired from a UCP leader Alexander Dobrovolsky about the purpose of their protest. Dobrovolsky explained that they were commemorating their compatriot and friend, kidnapped off the street on that very day on that very place two years ago. Police major and lieutenant from the Oktyabrsky district station numerously warned the dissenters but didn`t dare launch any unlawful counter-measures against them. Interestingly, ten minutes after the action got started police came up to the NTV group and commanded to the cameraman to stop recording the thing on video, which he refused to do and the law-enforcers walked away.
