Trade Turnover Between Belarus, Russia in Decline 11:13, 07/02/2002
In 2001 the trade turnover between Belarus and Russia fell by 0,8%, amounting to $9bln190,4mln, reports the “Finmarket” agency with a reference to the press-service of the Russian State Committee for taxation. Nonetheless, Belarus remains Russia’s main partner among the former USSR countries and second after Germany among all the world’s countries.
The trade turnover with Ukraine constituted $9bln88,9mln (104,8% to the 2000 level), Kazakhstan – 4bln704,7mln (105,8), Uzbekistan – 987,5mln (105,3), Moldova – 585,3 (109,3), Azerbaijan – 210,8 (77,6), Tajikistan – 198 (67,5), Turkmenistan – 178,7 (29,6), Kyrgizia – 144 (75,2), Georgia – 140,9 (118,6), Armenia – 126,8 (177,4), Lithuania – 1bln857mln (83,8), Estonia – 1bln342,2mln (100,6), Latvia – 1bln33,6mln (60).
According to the preliminary estimations, the Belarus’ exterior trade turnover in January-December 2001 constituted $15,5bln and fell, as compared with the analogous period of 2000 by 2,7%. The trade turnover with the CIS states amounted to $10,1bln or 65,1% of the total country’s trade turnover.
