Recently some mass media, quoting the Information Minister Mikhail Podgainy, reported of the dates when the Supreme Economic Court will consider the lawsuit of “Marat” company to the Ministry of information concerning the reprimands, passed against the “BDG” newspaper. Either the journalists didn’t get right what the Minister meant, or the Minister led his colleagues astray.
According to Mikhail Podgainy’s interviews, any “BDG” complaints towards his Ministry will be considered by the Economic Court on June 10, 16. The Minister didn’t even rule out a possibility that the court might decide that the Information Ministry exceeded its authority by issuing reprimands to the newspaper. However, according to the official notification, received by “BDG” from the court, the hearings will be held on June 12, 17 this year. Who knows, may be by saying so the Minister wanted the trial to avoid public scrutiny.
