Feeble Economy Set to Reequip Air Force, Air Defense 15:58, 05/06/2003
During his recent visit to the artillery division of the 115th missile Air Defense brigade and Air Forces units, deployed in Brest region, Alexander Lukashenko commanded the military officials to modernize the country’s Air Defense and Air Force troops.
The presidential press-service quotes him as saying that in 5-7 or at least 10-12 years this sphere must be led to the highest possible level, regardless of the financial means necessary for that, reports BelaPAN.
In course of his communication with the military particular attention was paid to the interaction between the Belarusian and Russian troops in Air Defense of the “union state’s” frontiers. Lukashenko positively assessed the current level of military cooperation between the two, adding that it can serve as an example for bilateral interaction in economy and politics.
