Tcherikov collects money for the restoration of the Lenin monument 16:40, 24/07/2003
In Tcherikov, a town in Mogilev oblast, people collect money for the restoration of Lenin monument. This initiative belongs to local syndicates. In Tcherikov they are planning to collect from people and enterprises 10 millions rubles by the month of September.
The Tcherikov syndicates activists explain their concern about the monument by the campaign of improvement of the territory and preparation to the 400th anniversary of the district center that will be celebrated next year.
The director of the coordinating council of the syndicate’s presidents of the district Marya Shvingelskaya believes that Leninism is a part of our history and Lenin monument – architectural value of Tcherikov.
The local newspaper “Ilitch’s call’ publishes different materials to support the people’s restoration of the Lenin monument in each issue. However for today they managed to collect only 200000rubles of 10 millions.
