Kasyanov Alarmed by Arrest of Russian Companies’ Property 11:33, 15/09/2003, Prime-TASS
The government of Russia is deeply concerned over the arrest of a part of the Russian companies’ property in Belarus, said at the Saturday briefing the chairman of the Russian government Mikhail Kasyanov, who opened the Moskovsky “Manezh” exhibition, dedicated to the 300th anniversary of Russian press.
“Yesterday we received written complaint from the heads of “Slavneft” company concerning the arrest of some of its Belarusian property,” – said the Premier: “This Russian company possesses 15% of shares of the Mozyr oil refinery, which for no good reason had been arrested upon the decision of the Mogilev court”.
At the same time, he said, the government received complaint from another Russian company “Transnefteproduct”, which experienced analogous problems too. According to Kasyanov, Belarus calls into question the ownership rights of this Russian company for transported oil products.
“These problems are of unnatural character. We want the transparency of our relations to be greater,” – pinpointed the Russian Premier.
