Zinaida Gonchar Addresses Parliamentarians 16:35, 16/09/2003, "Vesna" HR center
On the forth anniversary of Viktor Gonchar’s disappearance his spouse Zinaida Gonchar addressed each deputy of the house of representatives of the National Assembly with a question: what each of them has done in order to find truth in the political disappearances in Belarus?
Zinaida Gonchar pointed out that the appeal has been written in compliance with the Law “On citizens’ appeals” and so the deputies must necessarily reply her letter. At the same time Viktor Gonchar’s spouse expressed her gratitude to the deputies, who raise this problem, making concrete steps in order to solve it. Here’s what Zinaida Gonchar writes:
“I greatly appreciate the serious and consistent position, which you hold on to in order to find truth in the political disappearances in Belarus, regardless of the pressure, exerted upon you by the authorities. I thank you and hope for more of your support. I rest convinced that by our common undertakings we will manage to shed light on the truth, find the perpetrators and the guilty ones and pass them over to fair court. I also hope that our joint efforts in this regard can thwart repetition of the violent crimes in our country”.
