On April 13 Lenin district court of Minsk fined Mikhail Marynich 10 basis units (about 90$) for publishing an article in the independent newspaper “Narodnaya Volya”. The fine was conferred on him because in article “Collapse?” M. Marynich calls himself a member of civil association “For Worthy Life”. This organization has not been registered yet by the Ministry of Justice, though the documents had been submitted for that.
Leaders of a number of public associations this month have been summoned to the senior prosecutor of a general supervision department of the prosecutor’s office of the Republic of Belarus Stanislaw Novikaw. Among them are famous public figures Ales Byalatski, Vatslaw Areshka, Iryna Zhykhar, Syarhei Matskevich, Barys Zvazskow and others.
On April 13 Hrodna police officers detained elder sons of Valer Levanewski, the head of national strike committee of Belarus. Dzmitry and Uladzimir Levanewski are students of Janka Kupala Hrodna State University.
