Flat of “Narodnaya volya” journalist Marina Koktysh was robbed. Money and jewellery were stolen.

Members of Lithuanian parliament (Seim) can initiate resolution to support Belarusan opposition. As Vilnius newspaper “Respublica” informs this statement was made by chairman of Seim committee of foreign affairs Gyadiminas Kirkilas.

The Special Representative of the Secretary General on human rights defenders, Hina Jilani, expresses her serious concern at the reported curtailment of the freedom of association in Belarus, particularly regarding the reported introduction since 1999 of legislation which strictly regulates the registration, functioning and funding of non-governmental organizations (NGOs). 
Working group from OSCE Parliamentary Assembly to visit Belarus 12:23, 22/06/2004

A group of parliamentarians from the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly will visit Minsk from 21 to 23 June. The delegation, headed by Ms. Uta Zapf (MP, Germany) is scheduled to meet with Foreign Minister Sergei Martynov, Minister of Information Vladimir Russakevich, Chairperson of the Central Election Committee Lidia Yermoshina, Vice-Speaker of the House of Representatives Vladimir Konopliev, as well as OSCE Ambassadors accredited in Minsk and representatives of civil society and political parties. 
Vaclav Havel upholds Belarusan democrats 12:23, 22/06/2004

Ex-president of Chech Republic Vaclav Havel supported participants of political hunger-strike in Minsk. “I am fully agree with your demands. I watch situation in Belarus and I know that all troubles in Belarus are because of Lukashenka and his attempts to ignore international obligations to provide life-ling ruling for himself and for his group. It is very dangerous because Belarus diverges from democracy in which I believe,” – says letter received by members of “Republic” group Valery Fralou, Uladzimir Parfyanovich and Syargey Skrabets.
