Volha Zavadskaya Directs Appeal to Prosecutor General Office 12:58, 10/12/2004
On December 10 mother of journalist Dzmitry Zavadsky who disappeared in July, 2000, directed an appeal to the office of Prosecutor General, Pyotr Miklashevich, against the refusal of the Republican Prosecutor’s Office to renew the investigation of the case o her son’s disappearance in connection with new circumstances and interrogate A. Lukashenka as a witness.
As we have informed, during the press conference on July 20, 2004 Lukashenka declared that he has certain documents which could turn Zavadsky’s case into “an anti-case” if given publicity. In her appeal mother asked to study these documents, but from the answer of the Prosecutor’s Office it is not clear whether they had been requested and studied, and Lukashenka had been interrogated as a witness in this case.
