Belarus considers sending aid to tsunami-affected countries 16:13, 30/12/2004
Belarus’ emergency management ministry has suggested sending a humanitarian aid shipment to the tropical Asian area devastated by last week’s deadly tsunami.
As a source with the ministry told BelaPAN, the shipment consisting of 40 tons of wheat flour, medicines, dressing materials, water purifiers, canned fish and other products is expected to be delivered by an IL-96 plane to the Sri Lankan capital of Colombo.
The Council of Ministers will discuss the matter in early January.
