Bialystok, 1 February: Poland and Belarus will soon form special groups of experts with the view to introducing joint customs clearance at the common border, the two countries` customs services chiefs informed at Bobrowniki, Podlasie Province, on Tuesday [1 February].
Joint inspection at Polish-Belarusian border crossings was started Tuesday by Poland`s customs service chief Wieslaw Czyzowicz and his Belarusian counterpart, Chairman of the Belarussian State Customs Committee Aleksander Shpilevsky.
The two stressed at a press conference that it is necessary to streamline customs services` work to make customs clearance "fast, simple and efficient" especially for entrepreneurs. There are plans to carry out clearance simultaneously by Polish and Belarusian customs and border guard officers.
So far, joint customs clearance only of those going to Belarus has been carried out at Bobrowniki in Podlasie Province.
The two chiefs declare that there is a chance to open also two Polish-Belarusian tourist crossings at Bialwowieza and Rudawka still this year. They are going to visit also other crossings at the common border.
