Permission Needed For Holding Agitation Meetings

Minsk executive committee adopted a list of places where agitation of candidates for presidency. More than 20 parks, squares, mostly in remote parts of the city, are entered in the list. However, to use these places, candidates and their teams are to address for permission, the Radio Svaboda was told by a representative of the law department of Minsk city executive committee Viktar Balashou.

“In order to avoid a gathering of people who detest each other in one place and in one time, the necessity of a permission remains. Thus, an application for a certain place and certain time should be sent to us,” the official said.

Mr Balashou assured that these applications would be considered in the shortest possible time, from one day to three. Besides, Minsk city executive committee had ordered the law-enforcing agencies to prevent mass agitation meetings in the places not intended for that.
