Hajdukevich’s Election Agents Are Usual Hooligans?
14:23, 07/03/2006

Yesterday activists of the team of the singe candidate for presidency Alyaksandr Milinkevich caught two members of the team of a presidential candidate, Liberal Democratic Party Syarhei Hajdukevich busy with unseemly deeds. By the supermarket “Valgagradski” in Pravda Avenue they were tearing off posters of Alyaksandr Milinkevich and pasted informational materials of Hajdukevich above. The Charter’97 press center has been informed about that by an agent of the candidate A. Milinkevich, Valyantsina Svyatskaya.

Activists of the democratic candidate team detained hooligans and too them to a police department number 44 of Maskouski district of Minsk. As it turned out in the police department, one of the detainees, Syarhei Shekh, is a worker of a design organization and a member of Syarhei Hajdukevich initiative group. The second offender refused to present himself; he just showed credentials of Hajdukevich’s initiative group member. It was enough for policemen who didn’t question him. Only Syarhei Shekh gave evidence.

Valyantsina Svyatskaya has demanded to draw reports for violation of electoral code by the detainees, who are to incur administrative responsibility. However Hajdukevich’s agents’ punishment is highly questionable.
Syarhei Hajdukevich himself arrived to the police department to defend his supporters. As said by V. Svyatskaya, Hajdukevich was very aggressive and acted like a lout; he insulted activists of Milinkevich’s team.

Today Valyantsina Svyatskaya is going to submit a complaint to the Central Elections Committee on the impropriety of such conduct of a presidential candidate/

The head of Minsk city headquarters of Alyaksandr Milinkevich’s campaign, Valyantsina Palevikova told to the Charter’97:

“If in our country Lukashenka goes the length of approving beating up of one of the presidential hopefuls publicly, what might one expect of Hajdukevich who had thrown aside all restraints? Just imagine what Valyantsina Svyatskaya had to listen from this ruffian on the eve of the International Women’s Day! As the head of Minsk city head office of Milinkevich’s campaign, I would like to apologize to Valyantsina for Hajdukevich’s behaviour, as there is no point in waiting for apologies from him for sure”.
