The single democratic presidential candidate Alyaksandr Milinkevich has visited the special pre-trial detention centre of the Minsk city executive committee in Akrestsyn Street. The single candidate for presidency came to express support to the people who had been arrested during the meetings of Milinkevich with voters, and with Zubr activists arerested in the run-up to the elections.
Alyaksandr Milinkevich brought 12 food parcels to the wards of the special detention centre.
The authorities have demonstrated paranoia again. On the eve of Alyaksandr Milinkevich’s visit the building of the pre-trial detention centre was cordoned off by policemen. 6 buses with riot policemen were standing by the detention centre. Answering the question about blocking the building of the detention centre, policemen told to reporters rather embarrassedly that “there had been a breakdown of waste-pipe”.
“There is a feeling somebody is going to take Bastille by force,” Alyaksandr Milinkevich’s wife Inna Kulej said.
