Leaders of the Young Front Artur Finkevich and Zmitser Dashkevich are sentenced to 15 days of arrest by the court of Maskouski district of Minsk. Riot policemen seized them yesterday by the court of Maskouski district of Minsk. A case of oppositionist Yury Radzivil was tried there. The oppositionists have spent the night in the special detention center in Akrestsin Street. The young activists were charted with violation of the Article 156 of the Administrative Code (petty hooliganism) without any legal grounds for that. Riot policemen were witnesses in the court. They said that the young activists have allegedly used foul language. The politically motivated verdict has been passed by judge Syarhei Nikalaeu. Riot policemen Dzimtry Labkou was a witnessed against Artur Finkevich.
As we have informed, on May 10 Artur Finkevich was sentenced by the court of Pershamajski district of Minsk to two years of recruitment of liberty, or corrective labour for graffiti “We want a new one!” [president]. He was at large, as the place of serving the sentence had not been defined to him.
“It is possible that right after the administrative arrest the place for corrective labour would be defined for Finkevich,” said Ales Kalita, a human rights activist, to the Charter’97 press center.
