An activist of the Young Front from Salihorsk Yauhen Myadzvedzeu had to stop the hunger strike. His parents have received a phone call from police. Policemen stated that Yauhen’s father will have problems unless his son would stop the hunger strike. It is not an idle threat. In February Yauhen Myadzvedzeu was detained by police for distributing leaflets. After that his father, an electrician of the industrial association “Belaruskalij”, was deprived of a bonus.
Former political prisoner Valery Levaneuski has demanded the Council of Ministers of Belarus to provide wards of pre-trial detention centres, prisons and corrective facilities with booklets “Internal Regulations”.
On May 30 the Attorney General Piotr Miklashevich claimed they were "still looking for Dzmitry Zavadski". BAJ deputy chairperson Andrej Bastunets stressed that the Office of Public Prosecutor paid no attention to the court`s decision to declare Zavadski dead and was not going to start a criminal case.

Volha Smalyanchuk, a pupil of the 10th form, and Andrus Famin, a student of Hrodna medical university, joined the hunger strike with a demand to stop criminal prosecution of the Young Front activists and release all Belarusian political prisoners. Thus, the hunger strike started by the Young Front members from Salihorsk, has 22 participants: 7 from Salihorsk, 9 in Minsk, 5 in Hrodna and one in Kyiv.
Today at 12:00 noon “Silence Watch” started in Brest. It’s an action of solidarity with the Young Front members prosecuted by the regime and with political prisoners. Its participants stay in Lenin Square in the center of the city, near the “Zero Kilometre” monument. Sitting on the ground, they silently read the Bible. After a certain period of time the participants of the protest are to change.
The Chairman of the KGB (State Security Committee of Belarus) Stsyapan Sukharenka urged to take opening of Felix Dzerzhinsky monument in Minsk calmly. He thinks that estimation of his actions is to be made by history. “We cannot say that he was a person who took a sabre and killed everybody. In other states monuments are standing, and it’s a history. There were Dzerzhinskys and other historic figures,” the KGB head told to journalists.
On May 30 in Minsk a meeting in memory of the 7th anniversary of the tragedy in “Nyamiha” (“Nemiga”) metro station was held. Several dozens of young people laid flowers to the monument of the stampede victims and lit about a hundred of candles near the monument and at the stairs of the underpass.
A Young Front activist Ihar Shchekarevich, who lives in Kyiv now, joined a hunger strike with the demand to release all Belarusian political prisoners.
On May 30 in the evening an activist of the Belarusian Popular Front Party Pavel Batueu joined the five activists carrying out a hunger strike in Salihorsk. In Minsk the hunger strike was supported by 9 activists of the Young Front. Three more oppositionists announced a hunger strike in Hrodna. Thus, 18 persons have gone on a hunger strike against criminal prosecution of the Young Front members and politically motivated arrests.
