Elections to Local Soviets to be Held on January 14, 2007 11:49, 10/10/2006
Alyaksandr Lukashenka by his decree ruled that local Soviets election to take place on January 14, Interfax was informed in the press-service of the head of state. “On October 10 Alyaksandr Lukashenka signed a decree and set the date for the elections to local Soviets of Belarus of the 25th calling on January 14, 2007,” the press service informed.
It was said there that “the state bodies, other organizations are entrusted with a task to ensure carrying out organizational measures stipulated by Electoral code within their power for preparing local elections”
The press service underlined that financing of preparation and carrying out elections would be done by the Council of Ministers of Belarus on behalf of the country’s budget.
