Martynau: Belarus and Iran have Wonderful Relations

Foreign Affairs minister Syarhei Martynau highly estimates the level of Belarusian-Iranian political relations, stating that the visit of Alyaksandr Lukashenka to Teheran planned for November would allow increasing the economic cooperation between the countries up to that level. “Our political relations are in a wonderful state, and our aim for today is to boost economic relations to the level of political ones,” the head of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry told in an interview to journalists, summing the results of his visit to Teheran.

Calling the negotiations in Iran, “very effective”, S. Martynau noted that basing on the talks’ results “we can expect a packet of agreements to be concluded during the visit of Belarusian leader to Iran in November. They are to make the fabric of interstate and interagency contacts of Belarus and Iran tighter”.

Besides, as said by the head of the Foreign Ministry of Belarus during A. Lukashenka’s visit to Iran a number of documents on important joint economic projects is to be signed.

S. Martynau stated that no political problems exist in the relations of the two countries. “Moreover, Iran and Belarus are participants of the Non-Aligned Movement, and see the international agenda, the global problems of the world, and the ways of their solving, in the same light”.

The head of the Foreign Ministry also said that “Iran and Belarus are the countries actively working in the direction of reinforcement of the NAM’s role in international processes”.
