Today in Hrodna an activist of the Union of Poles in Belarus, a musician Stanislaw Poczobutt has been detained during a solidarity rally at Savetskaya Square. The Charter’97 press-center has been informed about that by his brother Andrzej Poczobutt.
Today near the railway station an attempt to detain young activists Krystsina Shatsikava, Zmitser Fedaruk, Syarhei Humilin, Nadzeja Klimovich and Volha Zhuraulyova has taken place. Passports have been seized from the activists. Policemen tried to take them to a police department for identification.

In the prosecutor’s office working groups for legislative execution have been created for the period of elections to local Soviets of deputies. As the BELTA reporter has been informed by the prosecutor’s office of Belarus, the “most important task” for the bodies of prosecutor’s office for the period of local elections would be “ensuring the constitutional right of Belarusian citizens to freedom of the will, and for proper execution of the current law by all participants of the election process”.
Today Vyachaslau Dashkevich hasn’t been allowed to meet with his son, the leader of the “Young Front” Zmitser Dashkevich. As Radio Svaboda informs, the father of the activist has been told in Minsk remand prison that all places for meetings are occupied today, and advised to come on November 17.

Amnesty International is calling for the immediate and unconditional release of Zmitser Dashkevich, a leader of the youth opposition movement Ìàëàäû ôðîíò (Young Front), whom the organization believes to be a prisoner of conscience, imprisoned solely for the peaceful exercise of his rights to freedom of assembly, association and expression.
Justice Ministry has started to check the list of members of the Party of Communists of Belarus (PCB), which had been provided by the decision of the Supreme Court. This list includes a thousand and a half members.

In our country and in many countries of the world people are going to gather in squares with lit candles in remembrance of the abducted leaders of opposition and journalists in Belarus, as a sigh of solidarity with political prisoners, with all those who fight for freedom and democracy in Belarus.
