A member of the civil initiative the “Third Way” Pavel Marozau is the suspect for slandering Alyaksandr Lukashenka. According to Radio Svaboda, today he was summoned to the Office of Public Prosecutor in Minsk where he was introduced to the resolution of the investigation. Political animation reels published on the organization`s web site were the grounds for bringing up a criminal action against him. The criminal action was launched last year. KGB officers carried out searches in the apartments of three members of the “Third Way” and seized all information carriers.
An activist of the Union of Poles in Belarus Stanislaw Poczobutt has been arrested today for 5 days. He immediately announced a hunger strike, Radio Svaboda informs. He was detained yesterday in the evening before the action of solidarity and taken to the police department of Leninski district of Hrodna. A report has been drawn up against the activist for petty hooliganism, for violation of the Article 156. He spent the night in prison.
"Belarus is open for all kings of dialogue". This is the point made by Alyaksandr Lukashenka when he commented to journalists on the statement made by European Commission member about the silence of Belarusian government in response to European Commission`s proposal to open its office in Belarus.

On November 16 the Cassational College of the Supreme Economic Court stopped consideration of appeals of the New Life church. They are to be considered after the session of the Supreme Economic court presidium session where the legality of land and building’s seizure from the church are to be considered.
Gas cost for Belarus in 2007 to be $230 per thousand cubic metres, a chairman of the Russian gas society, Duma energy, transport and communications committee head Valery Yazev has told to journalists today. He explained that the same cost is planned for Ukraine, $230 per thousand cubic metres.
Tomorrow Nadzeja Batura, a current participant of Alyaksandr Kazulin solidarity hunger strike, will be replaced in the office of Belarusian Social Democratic party (Hramada) by the politician’s younger daughter, Yuliya. Lawyer Aleh Vouchak is to be substituted by Volha Kazulina, the elder daughter of the ex-presidential candidate. BelaPAN was informed on that by Ales Straltsou, the one responsible for organization of the relay hunger strike in Minsk. Ales Straltsou himself is also on a hunger strike, at the same time being an active collector of signatures to support party`s candidates to the local councils.
On November 16 actions of solidarity with families of abducted Belarusian politicians and with political prisoners were held in 9 Polish cities: Warsaw, Krakow, Poznan, Gdansk, Lodz, Pultusk, Lublin and Bialystok.
Near the National Library on Minsk the police arrested 8 young activists. They were going to tie the ribbons with "Free Dashkevich!" slogan to the tree planted by Alyaksandr Lukashenka when the Library was being opened. Zmitser Dashkevich, leader of the Young Front, is a political prisoner, sentenced to 1.5 years of jail for his activity as a member of an unregistered organization.
On November 16 fifty persons gathered near Belarusian consulate in Bialystok to express their support to arrested politicians and families of disappeared opponents of Lukashenka’s regime. Another solidarity action organized by Belarusian students was held in the form of a performance. In the performance Alyaksandr Lukashenka was arrested by his own guards, and a young politician Zmitser Dashkevich released from prison after protests of civil society.
Pinsk authorities do not want to meet the OSCE representatives. The head of Minsk OSCE office Oke Petersson and an advisor on economy, ecology and PR questions Vadim Harting have taken part in a seminar on Chernobyl catastrophe consequences held in Stolin. After that the OSCE ambassadors arrived to Pinsk hoping to meet with the chairman of the city executive committee.
An event dated for the Day of Belarusian Solidarity was carried out in Barysau on November, 16. Fifty young enthusiasts gathered in the downtown and passed to the location of Quenchless Flame, where the candles were lit in memory of politicians and journalists kidnapped and killed in Belarus. The police kept the event under surveillance but no one was arrested.
Belarusian National Technical University’s security service illegitimately tried to prevent Alexander Milinkevich from collecting signatures to support candidates for local council elections in university’s dormitories. Despite of that the students came straight to the streets to see him and give their vote to democratic candidates.
Policemen from a police department of Kastrychnitski district of Vitsebsk checks personal data of the detained journalist of Radio Racyja, Vadzim Barshcheuski, a human rights activist Leanid Svetsik and the chairman of the regional branch of the Belarusian Popular Front Party Kastus Smolikau. As Radio Svaboda informs, no reports have been drawn up in the police department. But policemen expressed their dissatisfaction with the behaviour of the detained and charged them with provoking young people to violate public order.
An action of solidarity with fighting Belarus was traditionally held on November 16 in many Belarusian cities and abroad. Hundreds of activists gathered in the streets of Minsk, they lit candles of solidarity in different parts of the city. The rallies were held in Vitsebsk, Hrodna, Homel, Salihorsk, Barysau, Brest, Mahilyou and other parts of Belarus. Thousands of Belarusians lit candles of Freedom and Solidarity in the windows of their homes. Citizens of the Great Britain, Germany, Sweden, Poland, Russia, Ukraine, the Czech Republic, the USA and other countries held rallies too. For more than a year on that day people all over the world are united with Belarus by the memory of the abducted and murdered Belarusian opposition leaders and journalists, political prisoners and freedom fighters.
