On November 23 the leader of the united democratic forces Alyaksandr Milinkevich was detained in Vitsebsk region. The politician told about that to the BelaPAN. As said by him, he was collecting signatures for his supporters in Vitsebsk region. “We visited Polatsk and Navapolatsk. In Vitsebsk a car of traffic police overtook us. We were stopped and said that our car is suspected in participation in a traffic accident,” the politician said.

A. Milinkevich’s press-secretary Pavel Mazhejka said that after an inspection and a check of the car it was had been found out that the car A. Milinkevich was driving in, had not taken part in the accident. After a check of the technical condition of the car its passengers were released from the traffic police department of the district. As said by P. Mazhejka, after the incident A. Milinkevich headed for a meeting with his followers in Vitsebsk.
