Uladzimir Navumau Goes to New York to UN Conference 14:23, 26/02/2007
Belarusian Foreign Minister Uladzimir Navumau is to stay in New York from 4 to 7 March. He is to take part in an international conference on Trafficking in Women and Girls. It has been stated in a resolution of the Council of Ministers by which Uladzimir Navumau was delegated to New York. The resolution has been signed by Belarusian Prime Minister Syarhei Sidorski. The Charter’97 press-center has managed to find out what kind of conference it is.
In this case rules of the United Nations are in force, and the USA had to obey the UN regime and let the blacklisted minister arrive into the country. As we have informed, Uladizmir Navumau, as other high-ranking Belarusian officials, are banned from entering European countries and the US. He is suspected of involvement in abductions and assassinations of Belarusian opposition leaders and a journalist.
