General Consulate of Estonia Sending Note to MFA of Belarus

Around 60 friends of the Belarusian Republican Union of Youth and activists of the veteran organizations picketed again the building of the General Consulate of Estonia in Minsk today.The protest was against shifting of the monument to the Soviet Soldier in Tallinn. The General Consulate of Estonia sent the note to the ministry for foreign affairs of Belarus.According to the Radio Svaboda, it is said in the note that the Estonian party was not notified by the Belarusian authorities about picketing.

Supreme Court liquidates “Belarusian Literary Fund”

Information Ministry Entrusted with Filling ‘List of Extremist Materials’

The prime-minister of Belarus Siarhei Sidorski signed the ruling according to which the informational production which is confessed to be extremist by the court must be included into the republican list of extremist materials which would be lead by the Ministry of Information and published in the state newspapers Respublika, Narodnaya Gazeta and Zviazda within 3-day period after its submission to them by the ministry. The list will include the kind of the informational material, the name of the court, the day of enforcement of the verdict, the names of the authors or producers of the information production.

Niasvizh: Another Conflict around Cult Building

The subject of controversy between Niasvizh authorities and the local Catholic believers is a 18th century building which used to belong to the Catholic church till 1939 (Bolshevik seizure of the Western Belarus) and where priests lived. Then the building was confiscated and owned by Niasvizh executive committee, which placed a printing house there.

Young opposition activist fined $435 for organization of unsanctioned procession during Chernobyl anniversary march
