Authorities Permitted Holding Congress 11:49, 16/05/2007
On May 15 in Minsk city executive committee a deputy chairman of the United Civil party Ihar Shynkaryk was given a written answer with a permission to hold the Congress of democratic forces of Belarus.
“Minsk city executive committee is not against holding a congress on May 26-27, 2007 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the assembly hall of the Palace of Culture of MAZ (Minks automobile plant) (Partyzanski Avenue, 117A). In order to use these premises you should conclude a treaty with the direction of the branch of the unitary enterprise MAZ, the Palace of Culture of MAZ. The program of the event, issues of public order maintenance should be accorded with the Internal Affairs department of the Minsk city executive committee,” the answer reads.
As said by Ihar Shynkaryk, the decision had been signed by the chairman of the city executive committee Nikalay Myatlitski. Written answers are addressed to the chairman of the Belarusian Popular Front party Vintsuk Vyachorka, the first secretary of the party of the Communists of Belarus Syarhei Kalyakin and the chairman of the United Civil Party Anatol Lyabedzka.
As we have informed, previously the director of the Palace of Culture of MAZ Alyaksandr Lonsky sent a letter to the UCP leader Anatol Lyabedzka informing that on May 26 the Palace of Culture would be occupied by a different event.
