Charges against Young Front based on information from computer

The trial in the case of Young Front activists continues in the court of Savetski district of Minsk. The prosecuting official stated during his speech that the Young Front wants to take political power in the country by the way of mass street actions. The confirmation of that were transcripts of phone conversations, as well as audio recordings of the Young Front meetings held on September 29, 2006 and January 25, January 29, February 1, February 4, 2007.

Zmitser Khvedaruk in particular is charged with being the leader of the Young Front council of Pershamajski district of Minsk, Aleh Korban – with heading Partyzanski branch of the organization, Alyaksei Yanuhseuski – Zavodski district organization, Barys Haretski of being the press-secretary of the organization. Nasta Palazhanka is charged with being the head of the organizing committee. Aleh Korban stated that he is not a member of the Young Front any more, as he signed a statement about leaving the organization after the Article 193 Part 1 of the Criminal Code entered into force. Aleh Korban said he is the chairman of the council of the United Civil Party’s branch of Partyzanski district of Minsk, Nasha Niva informs.

All charged are based on printed materials confiscated during the searches or confiscated data carriers, in particular, on base units and hard disc drives.

Young Front activists were asked whether they had been taking part in the meetings which transcripts are attached, whether a written application is needed to enter the organization; what are the aims of the organization, how many members the organization has, who is its leader, what are the responsibilities of its activists, whether fees are collected, and whether members of the organization knew it was not registered.
