On Tuesday Alyaksandr Lukashenka adopted the draft Russian-Belarusian intergovernmental agreement on transit of goods between the customs of the two states as the basis for negotiations, the Interfax was informed at the press-service of the head of the Belarusian state.

Belarus is ready to sell a part of its shares of highly profitable enterprises to foreign investors, told the first vice Prime Minister Uladzimir Syamashka. “We are ready to sell part of our shares, but on conditions we are interested in,” Syamashka told on May 29 at the annual meeting of the Union of Non-Commercial organizations “Confederation of manufacturers and entrepreneurs”.

The Committee for State Security (KGB) arrested Alyaksandr Barowski, chairman of the Belarusian State Petrochemical Industry Concern (Belnaftakhim), and several other heads of state and privately held companies on suspicion of corruption on May 29, Prosecutor General Pyotr Miklashevich told reporters in Minsk on Wednesday, BelaPAN reported.

This fact has been announced by the lawyer of the young activist Pyotr Kavalenka. A criminal action was initiated against Dzyanis Dzyanisau and Tatsyana Elavaya for holding a number of protest rallies in Vitsebsk. They were charged under Article 342 of the Criminal Code (organization of actions which violate public order and counteraction to the authorities). Under this article the guy faces a three-year imprisonment.
Yesterday Lukashenka made a number of sensational statements. Addressing the delegation of Sibir Federal district of Russia headed by the governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory Alexandr Khloponin he said: “Why the treaty on the formation the union state is in fact being denunciated at present?” To support this statement he mentioned the situation with deliveries of Belarusian meat and sugar to Russia, and deliveries of Russian oil and gas to Belarus. The Belarusian leader asked: “Why does Russia buy sugar from somebody else, and blocks deliveries of Belarusian sugar, while it had been promised to buy beet-root sugar?” He is not satisfied with the situation in deliveries of Belarusian meat to Russia. Their volume is dropping as well. “You know, they say that we are exporting wrong meat!” he said indignantly.
