Because of problems with access to a pipeline Belarus cannon recommence export of its oil, interrupted since the beginning of 2007 in connection with the changed conditions and shortage of primary material at Belarusian oil refineries. Russian media have been informed about that by a representative of organs of state administration. According to a well-known economist leaned Zaika, diminishing of oil exports is connected with legalization of deliveries of Russian oil which make re-export not so attractive. “Now every ton is registered by Russia, and export dues are to be paid for it. Russians legalized oil deliveries to Belarus, got rid of “gray” schemes thanks to which people close to the government enriched themselves,” the expert told to the Charter’97 press-center.

Belarus cannot continue oil export because of the problems with the access to the pipelines system. The oil export was interrupted in early 2007 as a result of new terms of supply and lack of raw materials at the Belarusian oil recycling plants. The information was given by an official to PRIME-TASS. The official remarked that the Government had urged concern Belneftekhim (Belarusian oil and chemical concern) to resume exports of Belarusian oil in May ensuring absolute implementation of the oil balance of the “union state” of Belarus and Russia for 2007.

As first Deputy Minister of Finance Andrei Kharkavets said, Belarus plans to get credit rates soon and to edit Eurobonds in the autumn, Reuters reports. “Potentially we have the opportunity. And we also have certain offers from banks. We consider the possibility of placing Eurobonds at the international currency markets,” - he said and added that this could take place in autumn.

US to impose sanctions against Iran’s “friends” 12:37, 27/06/2007

At the session on June 26 the United States House of Representatives Committee on Foreign Affairs passed a wide-ranging bill that would toughen U.S. sanctions on Iran and on companies that invest in the country. It bans any new cooperation in the sphere of nuclear energy with Russia and other countries that cooperate with Iran in nuclear and rocket sphere. The Iran Nonproliferation Act of 2007 was approved by the Committee by 37 votes with 1 vote against. The bill envisages sanctions against oil producing companies cooperating with Iran, Interfax informs.
