In the morning on 7 September KGB workers visited the public and political activist Maksim Hubarevich at work. They handed to him a summons to come to the KGB office for giving explanations. There wasn’t specified which explanations he was to give and why, but they did not explain anything to him.

One of the leaders of the Belarusian opposition Andrey Klimau was sentenced at factually closed trial at the Minsk Central District Court to two years in prison .That was reported to the Charter’97 press-centre by the journalist Aleg Gruzdilovich who managed to get to know about the sentence to the policymaker. Information about the sentence was confirmed at the Minsk prosecutor’s office and at the Minsk Central District Court .The trial of the politician started 30 July and finished in two days.1 August the sentence was handed down by Judge Elena Ilina.

As today it is the Belarusian opposition and not the officials that is the real envoy of Belarus to Europe”, deputy chairman of the BNF Party , chairman of the European March organizing committee Viktar Ivashkevich declared commenting to the Charter ’97 press center on the decision of the European Union .to turn down the suggestions of the official Minsk on economic cooperation as the cooperation is conditioned by the democratic changes in Belarus.
