Leadership of primary organization of the Belarusian Free Trade Union (SPB) workers of the Brest State Pedagogical University named after A. S. Pushkin was forced to move out four activists from structure of the organization. As Valentine Lazarenkov, Chairperson of the organization informed, such decision was taken after the management set up a condition to these people: work in exchange for quitting trade union.

Pushkin in connection with new facts of pressure that its management exerts on members of the Belarusian Free Trade Union (SPB).
In the morning UCP leader Anatol Liabedzka came to the office of the Prosecutor General. Representative of the Prosecutor General Office Radzivonau gave an oral warning to Liabedzka. The UCP leader was warned for giving comments to Narodnaya Volya newspaper about suspension of activity of the pro-democratic Party of Communists of Belarus for 6 months.
As Viasna found out, yesterday police drew up two reports about youth activist Zmitser Zhaleznichenka: for disorderly conduct (foul language) and insubordination to police orders. Today judge Maryna Damnenka considered the charges in court. Under the first charge Zmitser Zhaleznichenka was sentenced to eight days of jail, under the second – to 20 basic units of fine.
Legal consultant of Homel city BAJ organization Leanid Sudalenka applied to Chyhunachny court of Homel with a suit against Homelskaya Prauda newspaper and one of its reporters.
Heads of Missions of the EU countries in Minsk met Ms. Olga Kazulina, daughter of Professor Alexander Kazulin and Ms. Tatiana Leonovich-Klimava, spouse of Mr. Andrey Klimov in order to obtain information on the current situation of both Belarusian citizens, considered by the EU to be political prisoners. HoMs also remains concerned about the recent cases of the detention of Belarusian citizens for political activities. HoMs underlined that the EU and its Member States continue to protest the harassment of Belarusian citizens in this way, and also calls for their release.
From 27 September 2007 all visa applicants, irrespective of nationality, will have to apply in person at the British Embassy in Minsk and provide their fingerscans and a digital photograph in support of their application.
16 years ago 19 September white-red-white flag and emblem “Pagonya” (Pursuit) was officially declared the state symbol of Belarus.
