Criminal case against Dashkevich was brought 14 August :: Charter'97 :: News

Aliaksandr Halieu, lawyer of political prisoner Zmiter Dashkevich has known that new criminal case against his client was brought as long ago as 14 August. Aliaksandr Halieu says that he phoned interrogator and he assured Aleksandr that no case was brought.

Aliaksandr Halieu doesn’t exclude that Zmiter Dashkevich was proposed to hire another lawyer, but he refused of the proposal and didn’t give evidence, “Radio Svaboda” reported.

The co-chairman of “Malady Front” (Young Front) sent Zmiter Dashkevich a letter and said that KGB interrogators started new case against Zmiter. This time under Article 402 of the Criminal Code (refusal of giving evidence).

Zmiter Dashkevich has been serving a sentence since 15 September for participating in an unregistered organization. There were made several attempts to interrogate him on the criminal case against some members of “Malady Front” (Young Front). But he refused to give evidence against his friends.
