Sky News drone footage showed the invasion of Russian troops in Vovchansk, Kharkiv region, and how Ukrainian soldiers fiercely resisted it.

“Watching the live drone feed, three people could be seen running down the street of a front-line town in north-eastern Ukraine... Other footage released on Monday showed more Russian troops in the town — just three days after how Russia launched a surprise attack on the Kharkiv region,” the publication says.

As one of the servicemen who are now there on the front line noted, “this is only the first wave.”

“They are checking our defenses, preparing artillery. When they fully enter the city, they will tighten their reserves,” he said.

When asked what their main task is now, another fighter said: “We will fight in these difficult conditions by any means necessary. We simply have no other choice, because our homes, our families, our children are behind us.”

Russian troops are said to have bombarded the city with ferocious fire using a combination of airstrikes, glide bombs, armed drones and heavy artillery.
