Lukashenka Makes Changes In Air Force And Air Defense Command

Mikhail Matrosau has become the new deputy commander of the Air Force and Air Defense Forces, the press service of the Ministry of Defense reports.

The decree on this appointment was signed by Aliaksandr Lukashenka.

“Major General Dzmitry Mikhalap, who previously held this position, has been appointed head of the faculty of the General Staff of the Armed Forces — deputy head of the Military Academy of Belarus,” the military department explained.

Dzmitry Mikhalap was responsible for air defense. He went through various levels in the army, starting with the position of chief of the crew of the combat control department of the radio engineering battery of the 15th anti-aircraft missile brigade.

Mikhail Matrosau also previously served in this brigade and was its commander. It is known that in 2021 he became a student at the Faculty of the General Staff. Moreover, in 2012 he graduated from the Command and Staff Faculty of the Military Academy with a golden medal.

It was previously reported that in early May the usurper visited the Central Command Post of the Air Force and Air Defense Forces.
