Georges Bush called the UNO to help Belarus

US President George Bush called the United Nations Organization to fulfill its main function – observance of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. “Every member of the United Nations must join in the mission of liberation”, - Bush said in his speech at 62nd session of the UN General Assembly on Tuesday. He explained that the UN members must free the world from tyranny, violence, hunger and poverty. Among the countries where the Universal Declaration of Humans Rights is violated and freedoms are infringed he named Belarus, North Korea, Syria, and Iran.

"In Belarus, North Korea, Syria, and Iran, brutal regimes deny their people the fundamental rights enshrined in the Universal Declaration of human rights”, - president of the USA said. “Every civilized nation has a responsibility to stand up for the people suffering under dictatorship”, - G. Bush added.

US president George Bush called to tighten the sanctions against the military regime in Myanmar. G. Bush blamed the authorities of the Asian country in imposing a 19-year reign of fear that denies the universal democratic rights. "Americans are outraged by the situation in Myanmar”, Associated Press quotes Bush.

Bush praised some countries which “have taken strides toward liberty”, including Ukraine, Georgia and Kyrgyzstan.

Bush also declared, that the USA support the reforming of the UNO and are ready to discus the problem of increasing the number of the Security Council members (the SC has 15 members now). He also criticized the UNO structures for closing eyes on the countries where the human rights are violated.

“The American people are disappointed by the failures of the Human Rights Council, focusing its criticism excessively on Israel”, - Bush remarked.

According to a tradition Bush speaks at the beginning of the forum of 192 nations as a leader of the taking part.
