Dziady rally on 28 October

Two applications of the Conservative Christian Party BPF (Belarusian Popular Front) for holding a rally and a meeting on 28 October were sent to Minsk City Executive Committee.

The traditional Dziady (Forefathers) rally organized by CCP BPF is to begin from the Clock Work (underground station Park Cheluskintsev) on Sunday at 10.30 a.m. 28 October. The demonstrators will go to the memorial area Kurapaty where a meeting will take place from 2.30 p.m. to 5.00 p.m., Nasha Niva running.

“Nothing is changing in our country, and the form of Dziady celebration will be traditional this year”, - Yuras Belenki, CCP BPF deputy head said. “In Kurapaty we will honour the legacy of all the generations of the Belarusians who were killed in numerous wars and during Stalin genocide”, - the politician explained.

Y. Belenki also said the Cross of Martyrs should have been repaired by Dziady, for that purpose the Civil Committee was organized by CCP BPF. Its head was selected Zianon Pazniak and its executive organizer – Yuras Belenki. There are not only politicians but also public representatives among the committee members, including academician Radzim Haretski, historian Anatol Hrytskevich, artist Mikola Kupava and others.

“It is very important that in the Cross restoration the artists, its authors can take part”, - the party deputy head pointed out.

There are many sites of execution in Kurapaty, not pointed with crosses. People who want to set a cross in the area can address to office secretary Ales Chaholski who is responsible for donations.
