Meeting in Kurapaty authorized

The Minsk Area Executive Committee permitted the meeting of memory in the memorial area Kurapaty 28 October. Siarhei Papkou, deputy head of the Conservative Christian Party BPF (Belarusian Popular Front) said to BelaPAN.
The permission on holding the action was received 22 October. “We are permitted to hold a meeting that will start at 2.30 p.m. 28 October. The permission was given by the Minsk Area Executive Committee as the memorial complex is situated in Minsk District. However, we haven’t yet received the response of the Minsk Area Executive Committee concerning holding a rally in Minsk”, - S. Papkou noted.
According to him, the answer to the application for 4 November has not been received. On that day the traditional rally to Loshitski Yar, where the mass executions took place in 1937, is planned.
“We expect the permissions for holding of these actions will be given at the last moment. We understand clearly why it is doing in such a way: in order there be as little information about the traditional rallies on Dziady – the day of the commemoration of the dead as possible. That’s why the Minsk Area Executive Committee doesn’t say even on telephone whether we receive a permission or not”, - S. Papkou said.
It should be noticed that the PPF Party Soim, headed by Vintsuk Viachorka, took the decision to support the rally and the meeting organized by CCP- BPF.
According to the applications sent to the Minsk Area Executive Committee, 28 October at 10.30 a.m. the gathering of the participants is planned on the square near the plant “Luch” (underground station “Park Cheluskintsev). At 11.00 a rally on the traditional route Nezalezhnasti Avenue, Kalinouski Street, Sedyh Street, memorial area Kurapaty is to start. At 2.30 p.m. a meting in memory of the killed there people is to start.
4 November at 00.00 the gathering of people near the building of Worsted Plant is planned and than a rally along Mayakovski Avenue, past Loshitski Park to the memorial cross, set in Loshitski Yar.
