Belarusian democrats met with Swedish PM

Aliaksei Yanukevich, deputy head of the Belarusian Popular Front met with Swedish Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt. In the frames of his visit to Sweden, where since 26 till 28 October the Moderate Party congress took place in Galve, he also had appointments with foreign minister Carl Bildt, minister for international development Gunilla Carlsson, Moderate Party members of Swedish and European Parliaments.

“I consider the visit to be very fruitful. We spoke with the Swedish politicians about the opening the Embassy of Sweden in Minsk, support of the independent media in Belarus, ways to release of the political prisoners and changes in election laws. We have also agreed on concrete steps for cooperation between the BPF and the Moderate Party, which is our good friend and main partner in Sweden. I am sure the current Swedish government will be able to do much for support of the civil community in Belarus”, - Aliaksei Yanukevich commented the results of his visit.
