Oil export tax will hit record high

The Russian Government has approved new oil and oil products export taxes, which are to come into force from December, 1. The decree signed by PM Viktor Zubkov, was published in “Rossiiskaya Gazeta” on Thursday November, 13.

The oil export tax, calculated according to the monitoring results of average price of Russian oil on European markets from the period from September, 1 to October, 31, is to increase from USD 250.3 per ton to USD 275.4 per tone from December, 1, and will reach its record mark.

Export tax for light oils will amount USD 197.8 per ton, for dark oil products – USD 106.6 per ton from December, 1.

The increase of export tax in Russia can mean essential growth of oil products export tax in Belarus.

According to the intergovernmental agreement, the tax for Belarus is calculated on ratio of 0.293. So, oil export tax for Belarus will amount USD 80.7. Now the tax comprises USD 73.3.
