Justice Ministry demands explanation from UCP

The Justice Ministry of Belarus has demanded explanation from the United Civil Party concerning their leader Anatol Lyabedzka’s participation in the unsanctioned protest rally of small businessman on January 10.
On January 12 Deputy Justice Minister Alyaksandr Bilejchyk has sent a letter of request to the National Committee of the United Civil Party.
In the address Justice Ministry demands before January 14 to give information whether the party empowered Anatol Lyabedzka to take part in that mass rally, the press-service of the party reports.
“If yes, copies of the minutes with the decision should be provided,” the address states. “If no, the official position of the party towards actions of its first person should be expressed. Besides, the information concerning involvement of the UCP in holding of this event should be officially disseminated, as well as via mass media”.
The Justice Ministry has demanded to give explanations concerning use of the United Civil party’s flag by participants of the rally.
