Leader of the “Youth of the Belarusian Popular Front” Franak Vyachorka was detained at Moscow Sheremetyevo airport on October 17 in the evening.
Franak Vyachorka was going to flew to Warsaw from Moscow. The youth leader was checked in, handed over his baggage, but was detained by airport security service before departure. After that Russian border guards questioned the youth activist for an hour. A planed, belonging to LOT Polish airlines, was delayed for an hour.
Due to questioning of Franak Vyachorka, the flight was delayed for an hour – this happened because border guards found the name of the youth activist in a special list of Belarusians, restricted to ravel abroad, Radio Racyja reports.
“Before the loading, I was detained by security service officers, who asked me to follow them. I as understood, they were FSB officers. They had my luggage, they conducted a small questioning, asked if I had any relation to criminal, why I flew to Warsaw via Moscow, and so on. It is remarkable that the secret service officers behaved in a rude way, they didn’t tell me any reasons and ground for my detention, they weren’t even going to explain me anything,” Franak Vyachorka told.
It’s worth noting that this detainment of the youth activist was the first one. But earlier Vyachorka had problems only if he flew from Belarus. According to Franak, now the list of the restricted to go abroad, he had been put on due to unclear situation with deferred service, were most likely passed to Russian border guards.
Franak Vyachorka says he is going to seek the investigation of the incident and official explanations of both Russian and Belarusian border guards.
